Artist's Comments

The NYS&W 1804 working local WS-6 waits in the clear on the "Dead End" track for the SU-100 road freight to pass at Mayhill Street in Saddle Brook. After a few years "out of service", The 3636 is once again the only operating F45 Diesel East of the Mississippi River. 1804 is one of 3 GP-18's owned since they were bought new way back in 1962. Summer 2006.

I've worked there for over 4 years and I still haven't gotten to ride in the 3636! 1804 was my ride that day. I proudly wash the 18's whenever I get a chance.

The set of power behind the F45 was pretty impressive too! An Ex SP SD40T-2, Alco/MLW M-636, and I think an ex NW/NS high hood SD40 (NYSW 3020) and either another T-2 or ex BN SD45. Typical Susquehanna! Give me a GP-18 any day!

I love signing up for work at Port Jervis NY at 4 AM and seeing this guy on the point of SU-99 or SU-100 sitting just west of CP Sparrow in the morning waiting for our commuter trains to clear up.
