A sample of my most active artistic involvement. This is a modified Lionel toy train that has had the following done :
-made masters of different parts needed to resemble the real locomotive yet be sturdy enough to endure operation.
-created silicone molds of the parts.
-cast the parts in plastic resin.
-applied the parts to the shell, removing any old incorrect details.
-prepared and painted the body. This involved seveal coats of primer, Yellow & Black paint.
-made the decals on my computer using photos of the actual locomotive.
-applied the decals and clear coated to seal the work.
-reassembled the model and convinced a cheap digital camera to shoot with depth-of-field!

This is a long process which usually takes several months to a few years depending on the subject and the scale.

You can see one of several HO scale GP18's I am working on, in the background. The gray primer will soon be covered with glossy Yellow & Black!
